St. Jude’s Cathedral with new green hangings

Birthday Greetings:
Birthday greetings to all those celebrating their birthday in October. Methusalah Kunuk on the 5th, Bishop Andrew and Bishop David on the 6th, Abe on the 20th and Jonas on the 25th. Happy birthday everyone!

Upcoming scheduled events include:

Clergy teleconferences: English October 18 and Inuktitut October 19.

Youth ConferenceDiocesan youth conference in June 2017 in Yellowknife. Parishes please begin to fundraise in order to be able to send your youth to this gathering. Contact Deanna for further details.

Arviat During the week of October 24, Dr. Grant Mullins will be visiting the parish and will be doing some workshops. Again, for more details you can contact the Rev. Lucy Netser.

NEW FACES Please keep the Rev. Raquel Mack of Kangiqsualujjuaq and the Rev. Victor Johnson of Salluit in your prayers.

Annual Reports: Your annual report should be completed and sent to the Synod office immediately after your Annual General Meeting. Forms will be sent out shortly.

Cathedral Update: our outstanding debt on the Cathedral is now $270,000.

Bishop David and Bishop Darren will be in Toronto from October 16 to 24 for Council of the North meetings.
Bishop David will be in Arviat Oct 26 – 29, Whale Cove Oct 29 – 31.

ATTS – Please keep the students at ATTS in your prayers. Annie Keenainak, Nina Kautuq, Esau Tatatoapik, Manasee Ulayuk, Sarassie  Arragutainaq and Martha Kunuk.

Please pray for youth leaders in the following communities in our Diocese: Taloyoak, Gjoa Haven, Coral Harbour, Pond Inlet, Arviat, Puvirnituq, Baker Lake, Fort Smith, Tasiujaq, Iqaluit and Yellowknife. Pray that youth leaders are raised up in other communities.

Remember in prayer – Pray that our cathedral will be debt free by the end of October so that it can be consecrated during our Executive Meeting.
